INCIDENT TYPE: Fatal traffic crash

 

 

DATE OCCURRED:    Tuesday December 19, 2017

 

 

LOCATION OCCURRED:   3000 block of W. Main at Solon, Kalamazoo Township

 

 

VICTIM INFO:  John O. Simpson, 81 year old Kalamazoo man;

 

   

INJURIES RECEIVED: The victim was pronounced dead at the scene

 

 

INCIDENT SUMMARY:   The victim was attempting to cross W. Main, just east of Nichols Rd. when he was struck by a vehicle going west bound.  The victim was not in the crosswalk when he was struck, and was reportedly crossing against a green light for west bound traffic.

The traffic crash remains under investigation by the Township of Kalamazoo Police Department.  The police department is asking anyone with information to please contact them at (269) 343-0551 or Silent Observer at (269) 343-2100.

INCIDENT TYPE: Missing person (17-004458)

 

 

DATE OCCURRED:  December 18, 2017

 

 

LOCATION OCCURRED:  3700 block of Mt. Olivet Rd., Kalamazoo MI

 

 

VICTIM INFO:  Jodi Nicole Thomas a 21 year old Kalamazoo female.  Described to officers as being a light skin, black female, approximately 5’09”, 185lbs, brown eyes, with black, shoulder length, hair.  

 

She was last seen wearing a dark navy Addidas brand coat, blue jeans, and black knee high boots with fur trim. 

 

   

INJURIES RECEIVED:  N/A

 

 

INCIDENT SUMMARY: Ms. Thomas was last seen leaving church in the 3700 block of Mt. Olivet Rd, in the City of Kalamazoo around 12:00 p.m. on December 17, 2017.  Ms. Thomas has medical issues that require daily medication which she has not had access to.
